RDM (Remote Device Manager) is a system designed for the management of mobile devices operating in cellular networks or within the reach of accessible Wifi points. RDM is not a solution dedicated to any specific sector or technology. It can be successfully applied in the area of FMCG, industry, telemetry, logistics, e-Learning or any other sector relying on mobile technologies for its daily operation. The system is intended to assist administrators in their activities connected with terminal configuration, software installation, maintenance work, registry of configuration and even determination of terminal's geographic location - if necessary. Owing to the use of RDM, it becomes possible to entirely remotely tailor the terminal for specific use, without the need of sending it to maintenance unit. The system architecture has been so designed to allow other systems to exploit it as well. Due to this fact, external mechanisms are allowed to check the terminal condition, for instance, with regard to energy statistics, amount of available memory or employee activity.
The tasks realised by RDM can be divided into the following areas:
Software management |
Testing the condition of terminal |
Registration of terminal condition |
Control of processes |
Operation on files |

Terminals can be managed from any computer connected to the Internet. The solution functions within the area of the dedicated network (APN), whose terminals possess permanent IP addresses, and within the public networks with variable IP addresses. There is a possibility of controlling the devices in an environment with double device addressing, resulting from the VPN application. Thanks to the use of SMS technology, it is also possible to supervise the devices by using connection to various networks (remote change of the address of the server responsible for controlling).
The administrative component of the solution makes possible the work of one or more simultaneous administrators and pool of many thousands of terminals. Administrator’s interface and solution architecture have been customised to operate on big pools of devices.
